Chat input Username field

Hi there,

I think this might be a stupid question, but couldn’t find the answer anywhere :innocent:.

I like the idea of using the in house chat.
Also, it seems that Chat Memory of an AI agent saves metadata of the chat, something like Human vs AI.

Here is what I’m trying to do.
When using the Chat i’d like the input to carry the Username. I tried with User authentication, but the data that comes through seems to be only:

  • Action
  • Session ID
  • Chat input

What am I missing here?

  • Database (default: SQLite): Postgres Chat memory through Supabase
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): Default
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app): n8n cloud
  • Operating system: Windows via Chrome

If I understood correctly you want to store a username from the person chatting with the AI? Can you please share the current workflow you have (just copy it from the canvas and paste it as a code block here) and 1 example of user chat interaction you want to keep?
