Do deactivated nodes have overhead?

I tend to keep certain deactivated nodes around (similar to commented code in trad programming) as I experiment with different approaches to constructing logic. Is there any downside from a performance or resource consumption standpoint (in production) to just leaving them there?

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: 1.60.0
  • Database (default: SQLite): Postgres
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): default
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app): Docker
  • Operating system: macOS (dev), Linux - Ubuntu (prod)

Hey @shot , I do not expect any overhead as the deactivated workflows get de-registered. They still reside in the database to get activated and registered again if needed. Apart from taking up some space in the database they should not affect other workflows performance.
