Feedback on the Gmail `Send wait for Approval`

I recently discovered the new wait for approal in n8n and did a fe spins with it. So far it does the job done.

In as much as it does, I feel it can do better

  1. The node does not return the email ID or other details. It would be better if we can get the sent email id etc and the Approval status
  2. The subject line is sort of Fixed and screams Action required. Is it posible to have an option to select yes or no whether to display the message or not?
  3. We need the ability to toggle the n8n logo and branding just like we have on the usual node
  4. Can we reply to a thread with this?

Its a good option that replaces the custom wait functions, and I feel this can be a better alternative to that

Thanks for the feedback, We were talking about this just now in our weekly Node team meeting.

There is a good chance some of these changes will happen soon when we revisit the feature to look for changes.

Do you mean that you would like to have a “Reply and wait for approval” operation where you can set a Message ID to respond to?

It shoud function just like the other nodes where I can reply to another email etc not just send this as a stand alone Email with no option for capturing the email id etc

Second the above points.

  1. We can edit the subject line, but not the ACTION REQUIRED part. We should be able to edit the whole subject line.
  2. Definitely required on this part if we are to use this with clients.

Would also like to add below improvements if possible:

  1. Ability to customise button colour somehow (even if its just setting a hex code)
  2. Have the positive/negative outputs similar to an IF/Switch predefined for approved or not so we can split the workflow out moving forwards (not a big deal as can use IF)
  3. Ability to set a template for the page linked to after clicking a button / or even able to alter the text.
  4. Abilty to set option such as Sender name, Attachments, CC, BCC etc as is with the standard Send Message Gmail node
