Google Calender Error Configs

Hello, my flow with Google Calendar is configured correctly, but I noticed that the settings are not applied in Google Calendar…

When I configure guest permissions, such as prohibiting viewing guests and editing events, these settings are ignored, both when I use event creation and when I use event update.

Guests continue to be able to perform all actions, when I create this using the MAKE platform, the event is created/updated according to what I configure, I believe it is something in the communication between n8N and Google Calendar

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: 1.69.2
  • Database (default: SQLite):
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app): Docker
  • Operating system:

Hi @PedroHenrique26
can you provide more detail about this?

I tried to re-create this scenario and it seems to work correctly.
What I did:

  1. I created a new Google calendar and invited user A with these permissions
    image

  2. I created an event on that calendar

  3. Then in n8n I tried to update that event using the Google Calendar node (Event:update) and got this error:

  4. I also tried to create a new event using the Google Calendar node (Event:create) and I got this error

This seems correct but maybe you tried a different scenario
Please provide me more info so I can check that

Using the Google Schedule, Create Event or Update Event node, I left the guest permissions options unchecked, but when users receive the invitation they have all the permissions, they can edit the event and see the members as if they were organizers. …

Another thing I noticed is the lack of the Append attendees option, which means that when updating the event with new participants, the old ones are deleted.

Hi @PedroHenrique26 thanks for providing more context,
I tested this on my side.
I created an event with these permissions and a couple of attendees
image

  1. If I retrieve the list of the attendees of the event I don’t see the other attendees other than me, which seems ok

  2. If I try to rename the event,I don’t get an error, so the operation seems successful but the event name is not actually changed. We should probably return an error or warning here.

  3. If I try to tweak “Guests Can Invite Others”, “Guests Can Modify”, “Guests Can See Other Guests” I get the error “Shared properties can only be changed by the organizer of the event” which makes sense to me. Would you expect something different here?

+1 to the “Append attendees” parameter, I’ll add that to our notes
Thanks again for the feedback

I think I got the same error. I turned “Guests can see other Guests” off but in the generated meeting it’s not off. “Guests can invite others” as well.

Hello! Any news here? I confirm the issue: “Guests Can Invite Others”, “Guests Can Modify”, “Guests Can See Other Guests” are not working at all, neither using the organizer user to update the calendar

nope you have to use https
