I’m creating an automation agency. I’ll create automations for other.
N8N looks great!
I’m testing a simple google calendar automation. It works perfectly with my own credentials but I’d like to use my customer google calendar, not mine.
Is there a simple method to ask a customer to sign in google before the first run of a workflow?
I found a method to share my credential but not for someone else to share his/her crendentils with me.
That is not currently possible and actually violates the license, at least under the community self-hosted edition.
You are allowed to use n8n for your own business uses but are not allowed to “white label” n8n for your customers.
don’t worry though! n8n supports us freelancer and agency owners. See my previous reply here for an in depth explanation. What i explained there was later confirmed by the founder Jan.
There is also a thread here where active community member and long time n8n pro BramKn discussed it in this thread
I recommend reading through those and your questions will likely be answered!
Thanks Liam for your answer.
I could use the Paid version to not violate the licence.
The Enterprise Tier is too expense for a starting solopreneur like me.
I’ll take a lower tier.
So, is there a possibility to add credential using a script that I could use in nodes ?
Using your own n8n instance with customer credentials is going against the license. If you want to do it you need a license, it is as simple as that. You could also create a seperate Cloud instance for each client that should also be fine.
There is a startup license for 400(euros or dollars) a month. That might help you.
