How to upgrade n8n to most recent versions safely?

Hello, everyone

Our company is currently using n8n, self-hosted with version 0.231.2. We’ve identified a need to upgrade to the latest version, primarily because the Google Ads node is broken in our current version. But we are worried about potential disruptions to our workflows, as they are very important to several client operations.

The current version is 12 releases behind the latest. Does anyone have any tips on how to do the upgrade without breaking everything?
