IMAP credentials not working

I’m trying to set up the IMAP Email trigger, but am already stumped by the IMAP credentials. All data seems to be working fine in my local Thunderbird, login details, ports, etc. have been checked and rechecked. It’s an ordinary IMAP server with my domain hoster.

All I get is this error message.

What am I missing here?

Information on your n8n setup

  • n8n version: n8n 0.207.1
  • Database you’re using (default: SQLite): Postgres
  • Running n8n with the execution process [own(default), main]:
  • Running n8n via [Docker, npm, n8n.cloud, desktop app]: Cloudron, package [email protected]

I am sorry to hear you’re having trouble. I believe the error you are seeing about testing the IMAP credentials has been fixed with the latest release.

Perhaps you can upgrade your n8n instance to [email protected] and give this one more go? If you’re still facing any issues, perhaps you can confirm which provider exactly you are using?

Just testing the IMAP connectivity with a random email provider worked fine for me:
