Requesting the integration of a Memory slot feature for the Basic LLM chain in n8n, akin to what is currently available in the Agent chain. This enhancement would automate conversational context management, eliminating the need for manual history tracking. It aims to streamline workflows that require context awareness, increasing efficiency and reducing error potential.

absolutely. i am currently trying to give my lmm chain context because i have to make a If to change the action based on intentions but without context in the basic LMM chain, you have to explicitly say what you want instead of simply saying yes for example. its super annoying

I’m kind of confused how this already isn’t implemented ? Is there a technical reason or just a push to use the agent node ?

This is a solid feature request. Adding a Memory slot to the Basic LLM chain would automate conversational context management, saving manual effort and reducing errors. It would make the Basic LLM chain much more versatile for building conversational applications.
