I’ve been using N8N for a while now to weave our Workflows and Repetitive tasks into N8N.
The Cloud version provides a very limited amount of flexibility when it comes to nodes. Not even the community nodes are really covering the basic needs of a workflow.
Things like adding an internal comment to a Jira ticket makes things incredibly complex as you’d then have to move it all to an HTTP node to directly query the API, but at that point it kills the need for us to even use N8N and we could just code it with some pretty logging.
But on the other side I see a constant influx of more Ai advertisement or things Pushing for Ai which feel very unrefined. E.g. you have a large input from the previous node and try to query the Ai and you receive the error that the max limit is 8192 Tokens…
Additionally the marketing for a extreme Ai push is rather sad since cool things like using Ai to build a workflow is not even available. And a simple “Ai Node” is just purely disappointing
It’s highly frustrating that the Cloud version is so stiff, Forms and form results feel insecure (only securing it with a single basic credential?)
I feel like N8N has lost it’s track from Workflow and Automation framework and instead just went full on Ai, neglecting all of the other Nodes, Functionalities or I’d even go as far as saying that they haven’t used their own Nodes to build something meaningful.
