Like the new data tables but want more control than simply filtering.
hey @jonathanbriggs welcome to n8n community.
here is a way of sorting datatables in descending and you will get latest rows on top.
now you can just extract first 4 rows which are latest.

It only works if you can extract the entire recordset using the get method.
I have a growing table with a chat history and I want the last X messages. I don’t want to extract all records and then sort them. I want to use the limit option to retrive the last X records. The equivalent of: order by createdAt desc limit X.
I can”t find a way to achieve this
