As the n8n Academy comes online , we are retiring the old text-based courses and the forum badges that went with them. This post explains what is changing and what it means if you have earned them.
What is being retired
The original text courses and the forum badges tied to them are being phased out, and will be retired on 30 June 2026. They did their job well and helped a lot of people get started. The Academy replaces them with something more structured: proper courses, hands-on exercises, quizzes with immediate answers and verifiable credentials.
What this means for you
If you earned a forum badge, nothing is being taken away from you. Existing badges stay on your profile. We are simply not issuing new ones under the old system.
The text course content is being retired now that its replacement is live. n8n Quickstart in the Academy is based on those original courses, updated and expanded with a new AI section, so the material you valued is still there in a better form.
Going forward, completion badges are issued through Accredible. They are verifiable, anyone can confirm they are real, and you also receive a completion certificate for each course you finish. These are not certifications .
Why we are doing this
Keeping two systems running side by side gets confusing fast, for us and for you. Consolidating on the Academy means one place to learn, one set of credentials that actually verify, and a clear path as we add more courses. It also lets us put our effort into improving one platform rather than maintaining old content in parallel.
What to do next
If you are partway through a text course, move over to the Academy and pick up with n8n Quickstart or the Foundations program. If you have questions about your existing badges or the transition, post in the community forum and we will help. After the 30th of June 2026, all endpoints and quizzes will be retired complete and unavailable.
