MCP Support for Claude and OpenAI APIs

Hi everyone,

Anthropic and OpenAI have both released support for remote MCP servers (via http / sse) this week.
For example: MCP connector - Anthropic

Has anyone tried adding n8n MCP servers to API calls for one or both of them?

Hi, I tried to connect my self-hosted n8n MCP server to my Claude desktop, but I received an error message, so I’m not using MCP for now

Yes sorry this is a different MCP implementation as part of making API calls to Claude and OpenAI (not from Claude Desktop or Chatgpt)

Might be the same issue or not - keen to hear what people found.
