N8n Enterprise On-Prem License Limits (?)

Describe the problem/error/question

Hey everyone,
I’m evaluating the n8n Enterprise on-premise offering and have a few questions about the licensing model:

  1. Why are there execution/workflow limits?
Since the platform runs entirely on my own infrastructure and I’m providing all of the compute, storage, and networking resources.
Why does the Enterprise license impose caps on active workflows and executions per year?

  2. What’s the rationale behind enforcing these limits?
Are these caps tied to support tiers, feature access, or upgrade guarantees? From a technical standpoint, if my servers can handle more load, what stops me from running unlimited processes?

Thanks!
