Need Guidance on My n8n Learning Journey

I began my journey of learning n8n a few weeks ago. Initially, I dove directly into utilizing Claude Sonnet 4.5, simply importing workflows into n8n without a clear understanding of the underlying mechanics. This approach quickly became overwhelming, prompting me to return to the fundamentals.

I discovered Nate Herk’s 8 hour tutorial on YouTube, and while I was following his instructions, I encountered difficulties with the second workflow he developed. I dedicated two days attempting to resolve the issue but was unable to do so, leading me to the decision to start anew.

Subsequently, I sought guidance from ChatGPT for a structured learning path and commenced my education from the ground up, progressing methodically, inquiring about which nodes to utilize, and taking a deliberate pace. I am uncertain whether I will be able to complete this endeavor, but I possess a genuine enthusiasm for AI automation and aspire to master the use of n8n.

I may not possess the ideal methodology or execution, so if anyone here could offer guidance or corrections throughout this process, I would be immensely grateful. Additionally, I would like to mention that I come from a non-coding background, making this experience quite novel for me.

i will advice you learn the nodes first and then start exploring the workflows people built. This playlist has 45 videos about n8n in it:

Also while dabbling in n8n, please start learning the basics of Python and SQL. You will want to have these skills applicable to applications outside of n8n as well in the longterm.

Hope this gives you more insight!

Or you can start with the n8n courses, and make you understand real life example.

That was a nice 3-4 hours challenge
