Have sadly no experience with npm install --prefix at all. I would probably simply go in a folder and just run npm install n8n. It then installs it directly in that folder. To make sure it also saves the data in different folders you should then also set the variable N8N_USER_FOLDER. Like for example export N8N_USER_FOLDER=/home/jim/n8n. Best point it to a subfolder in the folder you did install n8n into. Then if you ever want to uninstall n8n and want to get rid of all the data you can simply …

Generally, is it not a simple task to set up multiple n8n instances on the same server. It would require some experience. Additionally, is npm installing n8n multiple times probably not the best and simplest way to do that. A much better way would be to use docker-compose with traefik. Hi @Ian_Taggart Thanks I was able to host multiple instances with SSL but there is a problem that there is only one database which can be accessed from any user. so for example I have created a credential from user1, then it is user2 can also see those in his credentials.
