First of all, new apps in Shopify have different names for keys, which can be a bit confusing.
After testing different options, I managed to get an error from “Unauthorized” to “Forbidden”. Is there any specific scope I should select when creating a custom app in Shopify?

In the past, I’ve used Shopify with very limited scopes:
Can you try saving the credentials regardless of the “Forbidden” error and then perform a dummy operation in your Shopify node, such as fetching a product? This should display the full error message coming from the Shopify API and hopefully helps with narrowing down the problem.

I did try to create new credentials on a test store and everything went OK. Then I got back to the original store and got “Forbidden”. Then I refreshed paged and I got “Connected” on the credentials page. Tested and worked OK! So I presume your answer is good: Just ignore “Forbidden”
