I know a lot of people have been struggling with API requests to various endpoints that may be authenticated differently. For instance, there’s a few threads on OAuth2, tokens not refreshing, difficult to configure requests, etc. What I hope is to share an early access I’m currently running with RequestRocket that allows you to transform any auth into any other auth on demand.
Allowing you to connect to any third-party system with an authentication protocol of your choosing, in a region of your choosing, securely and with observability - that is, you can actually see how that third party api is performing and where / when errors occur.
I’d love to get feedback from the n8n community about it to make it better and also hope that by sharing this, some people who are struggling with Auth but really want their app to run smoothly, now have a quick and easy alternative.
One thing we’re also building into the platform this month is the ability to downscope a credential. Put simply sometimes you want to give a credential to someone and prevent them from doing any damage. We can already issue credentials of any kind allowing someone to connect to any system, so when mike leaves the team, it’s easy to turn off any of his access - no open back doors into the system. But where we go to from here is really up to devs to tell us what will be most helpful
