Snowflake Node Java Driver Update Question

This is more a general question about the (very helpful) Snowflake node in n8n.

We got an email from Snowflake Technical Support highlighting that as of 1/31/2024, only Java drivers above 1.6.6 will be supported.

Currently, it looks like n8n uses Java 1.6.23 (found by looking at the Client Info column in our Snowflake query history).

  1. Will the coming change in supported driver prevent the node from working and if so…

  2. Is there anything I can do on our end to ensure our processes continue to run?

It looks like your topic is missing some important information. Could you provide the following if applicable.

  • n8n version:
  • Database (default: SQLite):
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
  • Running n8n via (Docker, npm, n8n cloud, desktop app):
  • Operating system:

Hey @Pieter_Block,

We don’t use Java or the Java based Snowflake client, Our connection is made using the snowflake-sdk, It looks like we currently use 1.8.0 of that. I am not sure why Snowflake would report it as being java unless they maybe use the same connection options but from what I can see at the moment this doesn’t appear to apply to n8n so it should be all good.
