Has anyone here tried automating avatar videos with Heygen and n8n? I set up a test workflow, and I’m curious if it actually produces good results before I go ahead and buy the Heygen API.
Here’s the workflow I put together:
1. A schedule trigger runs daily and asks me for topics on WhatsApp.
2. An AI agent writes a script from the article.
3. The script is sent to Heygen to set up an avatar and create the video.
4. The workflow waits for Heygen to finish processing.
5. Finally, it fetches the completed avatar video automatically.
In theory, this gives me a fully automated pipeline for research, script writing, and video generation that can be useful.
Before I commit to the paid Heygen API, I’d love to know if anyone else has tried this and whether the output is actually good enough to use for posting.
@Bringofweb3 so you’re thinking of automating avatar videos with HeyGen and n8n? I’ve seen people use HeyGen for similar projects, and the results were really good.
Your workflow looks solid:
Schedule trigger: Runs daily and asks for topics on WhatsApp.
AI script writing: Writes a script based on the article.
HeyGen video generation: Sends the script to HeyGen to create an avatar video.
Wait for processing: Waits for HeyGen to finish processing the video.
Fetch completed video: Retrieves the completed avatar video.
Before committing to the paid HeyGen API, you might want to test the workflow with the free plan and see if the output meets your expectations. The free plan has some limitations but it can give you a good idea of what to expect.
If you’re happy with the results, you can always upgrade to a paid plan later. Just keep in mind that the paid plans offer more features and flexibility, so it might be worth it if you plan on using HeyGen extensively.
