Hi everyone,
I recently discovered n8n and it’s been a game-changer for me. I’ve just completed my n8n Level 1 & Level 2 certifications and I’m looking to turn this passion into a full-time career.
I wanted to ask the community: How did you land your first professional role or project in the automation space?
A bit about my background to give some context:
-
I have a technical foundation (HTL in Austria, which is a technical college with a focus on engineering).
-
I hold a degree in Business & Economics, where I wrote my thesis on Machine Learning.
-
I previously worked in Strategic Procurement, so I understand business processes and how to optimize them.
Why Low-Code/n8n? To be honest: while I have some technical background from school, jumping straight into pure Software Engineering felt like a massive mountain to climb. I found that low-code allows me to bridge the gap perfectly. It lets me apply my logical thinking and process knowledge to build powerful solutions much faster, while I continue to level up my technical skills (like getting more comfortable with JavaScript inside Code Nodes).
My goal is to find a full-time or part-time position where I can grow from an “advanced beginner” into a pro.
-
Did you start as a freelancer?
-
Did you join an agency?
-
Or did you implement n8n in your previous “non-tech” job first?
I’d love to hear your stories or any advice on what skills I should focus on next (currently looking into Web3/Abstract Chain integrations).
Thanks in advance! Gregor
