Hi! I am having the same problem and I see it’s almost a year later… Has been any improvement? It makes n8n almost unusable…
@uncovercity Canvas v2 was released a while ago, and should be performing a lot better.
Are you on the latest version?
also, How many items do your nodes have?
I am on version 1.80.3 of n8n. I don’t know if that is the version you mean. My largest scenario usually has about 80 items, but I have others with less items that are also incredibly slow. They all have a lot of nodes, that is true, but because the operations we do are complicated and require that many nodes… Do you think upgrading will fix it? If so, would you be so kind as to tell me how to upgrade my version? Thank you in advance!
Same problem here. In large workflows the UI gets laggy, specially when writing something or opening modules (at least in my experience).
Any news??
Same here, to the point the platform is barely usable and it is taking a large amount of time to edit simple workflows. The UI is freezing for multiple seconds upon opening / closing nodes and typing. It is beyond frustrating. I have tried multiple browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome). I am on 1.88.0.
@Jon Here is a preview of how unusably slow it is, unfortunately : https://a.storyblok.com/f/270361/x/627b56a8f9/n8n_bug.mov (Notice how I move the cursor to show that the entire input has already been written, and n8n is processing it).
Hi all reporters of this issue, I too had similar issues, but only when the workflow used larger/more powerful nodes. When a workflow uses simpler nodes (that have, for example, fewer resources and fewer options/picklists/resource mapper available items), this issue is not present.
Would any of you like to confirm if you too find the same or is this happening to you no matter what nodes you have in the workflow?
I’m using a workflow with at most 15 nodes and having the same issue. This isn’t the most powerful laptop, but everything else is smooth. Just typing is unbelievably slow. It seems like it’s just limited for me, not delayed. I can type at full speed, and all characters will appear, but only about 2 characters show up per second, meaning I just have to wait.
I get that too many nodes slow down the ui; but sometimes when we remove many of them it still slow especially for typing in values or even notes - have to start over and copy existing nodes into a new workflow. Also, is there way to report the number of nodes?
