I was under the impression N8N already had access to that data using the n8n account I use to sign into my instance
This offer is for self-hosted instances - if you have to sign in with your n8n account then you’re on our Cloud platform.

Does this mean I can’t debug workflows without getting this license? This is “why it doesn’t work” hell right there if you miss this offer.
Not at all - you can definitely debug in the Community Edition. What this option does is copy data from a failed execution to the editor as pinned data, making it just a bit easier to debug. You can also manually copy the JSON and pin the data.

Saw this offer the other day and took advantage, felt like I had found some magical special Easter egg until I saw the post. Super cool. Even with this I support the idea of a SMB-priced self-hosted version. I can justify paying a few hundred $/month for some locked features but can’t justify a full enterprise license. Basically take my money but also thank you for the freebies!

it would be great if in the future you could also have the option to unlock sharing (at least choose whether public or personal) and it would be very nice to have the option to add your own api key to use the AI in the node code 
I would even be willing to pay to unlock features without having to purchase an enterprise license!
