Using n8n to Automate Marketing Content on a Next.js Website — Do I Need an Embedded License?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently building a Next.js website where n8n will play an important role in automating various marketing content workflows (e.g., generating content ideas, scheduling, integrations, etc.).

The site itself won’t directly develop features that use n8n as their main technology, but it will run automation processes in the background to support the content and operations of the platform.

I wanted to clarify:
:arrow_right: Would this kind of integration require an embedded license, or would the standard self-hosted license suffice?

Appreciate any guidance or clarification from the team or community. Thanks in advance!

Best,
Mr_Zzz

Welcome to the community @pwnag3_pwnag3 !

That sounds like an internal use case and does not require a license. For more information about the license, please visit this page.

The most important part for you is probably here. There it describes when the usage of n8n as a backend is fine and when not. That is mainly about if you for example connect to your MailChimp (just as an example) account, or you connect to the MailChimp account of your users.
