When instructing your agents you can instruct them with the date, like:

Today is {{ $now }}.
As you can see it is not {{now}}, it is {{ $now }}.
Also make sure the field is in Expression mode, instead of Fixed mode.
Did you change the fields type from Fixed to Expression?
