Back on the whatsapp questions.
I now have a permanent token and am on a production number, no longer using test.
Messages sent to recipients do not arrive unless the recipient has first initiated the conversation to the registered whapp number.
What am I missing here?

To send messages outside 24h window you need to use template messages.

Thanks, I will go look into that. In our case we are using messaging to our own staff, it isn’t for external purposes. I was hoping there is a way to whitelist corporate numbers.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any way to circumvent the 24h messaging restriction with the WhatsApp API. Though you can create a pretty generic template and fill in the actual text you want to send as variable.
