I used to be a heavy Make user but recently started transferring some of my automations to N8N. I quickly realized that some things just don’t translate well. For example, something that can be done with a single node in Make often requires an entire workflow in N8N… which can be frustrating.
That said, I’m now looking for marketplaces (other than the “Creator Hub”) where I can sell a workflow I built. It took me a long time to figure out, and I don’t want to just give it away.
My main issue with the Creator Hub is that they require you to publish three free workflows before you can sell anything. Sure, I could create three simple ones just to meet that requirement, but I’d rather find other platforms where I can sell workflows, especially ones that cater to people like me who are coming from Make.com and use features that N8N users typically don’t.
I’ve spent way too much time building what should have been a basic, built-in node/workflow in N8N to just give it away for free. So, I’m looking for alternative marketplaces where creators can sell N8N workflows or automations similar to those on Make.
I get what you mean about the three free workflows, I think n8n does that intentionally, maybe to prevent scam or to make sure creators prove themselves first before selling..
That said, you probably won’t find a better marketplace than the official n8n Creator Hub, it’s tied directly to the community, ranks well on Google, and gives you free exposure if your workflow solves a real problem.
Still, there are other options, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, or Ko-fi are great for selling digital products, and you can always promote your workflows through your own website, YouTube tutorials, or automation communities on Reddit, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn.
However, there was no solution, as being forced to submit junk to get a paid workflow in the n8n Creator hub is just not right.
I already submitted 3 workflows, and 2 got declined. Now I have to make the workflows “More complicated” so that the n8n creator hub can reconsider them. Here is that “too simple “ email that I think was baloney.
All this because I can’t sell a complex workflow, so I have to give “Free workflows” (that I legitimately use) since I come from a programming background and use modularity extensively. But apparently n8n prefers spaghetti node flows over clean easily maintainable modular flows.
