Which credentials do you use for your clients workflows?

Hi guys,

we have been building workflows for ourselves for some time. But one of our client asked us to build a workflow for their company.

Which credentials do you use for your clients? Yours or theirs?

I am curious about the practice of building workflows for clients.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi @chodelka

The best and most professional practice is to always use your client’s credentials .

Here’s why:

Security: It keeps the client’s data secure within their own accounts. You avoid handling their sensitive information on your personal connections.

Client Control: The client maintains full ownership and can revoke access at any time.

Easy Handover: When the project is finished, the workflow is already configured and ready to go. There’s no painful process of switching credentials.

Using your own credentials creates security risks and makes the final handover complicated. Always start the project by asking the client to provide their own connections.
