Workflow Freezes and Becomes Unresponsive Until Reactivated (n8n Cloud, v1.79.1 → v1.82.1)

Description:

I’m experiencing an issue where my workflow randomly freezes and stops executing. It doesn’t trigger at all, and I have to manually deactivate and reactivate it to get it working again.

  • Issue Details:
    • The workflow becomes unresponsive and doesn’t execute.
    • I continuously monitor executions, but nothing is triggered.
    • The only way to fix it is by turning the workflow off and on again.
    • This has happened on v1.79.1, and after updating to v1.82.1, the issue persists.
    • Running on n8n Cloud servers.
  • API Connections Used:
    • Anthropic API for AI tasks.
    • Previously used OpenAI API, but the issue was the same.

System Information:

  • n8n version: 1.82.1 (previously 1.79.1)
  • Database (default: SQLite): (not sure, as it’s managed by n8n Cloud)
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main): (unknown for n8n Cloud, assumed default)
  • Running n8n via: n8n Cloud (Managed)
  • Operating system: n8n Cloud (Managed)
