YouTube Comment Manager in 4 Nodes

I made an automation that checks if someone commented on your video and ai generates a message and replies to the comment.

node by node explanation:

  1. The first node is an “on schedule” node, this automation will run every 5 minutes.
  2. The second node is an http request node, since there is no built-in operation for checking YouTube comments in n8n. I used this node to manually do that. This node checks for comments.
  3. The Third node is an agent node, this is where ai is used to generate a reply based on the comment from the last node.
  4. This last node is another http request that replies to the comment.

Nice and lean! Two things I’d add before pointing it at a busy channel. First, keep a list of comment IDs you’ve already answered (workflow static data or a Data Table). Otherwise a run that overlaps or fails halfway can reply to the same comment twice. Second, watch the quota: listing comment threads costs 1 unit, but each reply via comments.insert costs 50, so the default 10,000 units a day caps you at about 200 replies. Are you skipping comments from your own channel so it doesn’t reply to itself?
