Hi, could you please allow admin to update the instance? How is it possible that only owner can do it and admin doesn’t have access to Admin Panel? Thank you!
Only instance owners can upgrade n8n Cloud versions. Contact your instance owner if you don’t have permission to update n8n Cloud.

Hi @rbreen, I know that. I would like to know why admin doesn’t have the permission to update. Normally, admin role is the one that can control everything. The owner is responsible mainly for the billing. We upgraded to pro tier so we can have admin role as another person (me), so I don’t have to contact the owner, who doesn’t want to be responsible for such thing as updating…this really should be a responsibility of the admin.
I’m not sure why that is. I would recommend posting that as a feature request here.
Best,
Robert
This may be our problem too—we just get into a login loop when trying to update. I would classify both a) the presence of a clickable Update button in accounts that cannot actually update and b) the lack of any error message as obvious bugs, not a feature request. I had no idea Admins couldn’t update, the user interface gives absolutely no clue that this is true and in fact implies the opposite by presenting an Update button and sending Update notifications to Admin users.
