Amsterdam November 2024 Meetup - Report 📸

Last week, 25 community members gathered in Amsterdam for our second meetup in the city. It was a fantastic evening of presentations, discussions, and connections with both new and familiar faces—some of whom we first met back in July.

Presentations

We had three great speakers share their n8n projects:

Bram Knuever, Knitco: ‘MyMaco n8n Dashboard’

Bram introduced MyMaco, his n8n add-on designed to manage and analyze all your n8n instances. For anyone interested, you can find the Docker image for MyMaco here: Docker Hub.

Jelle de Rijke, Datakoppelaars: ‘n8n Projects at Datakoppelaars’

Jelle showcased a fascinating project his company developed: using AI to rewrite complex legal documents into a more consumer-friendly format. The project involves a series of AI agents, each handling a different aspect of the process.

JP van Oosten, n8n: ‘Current AI developments at n8n’

JP, from the n8n team, shared updates on exciting AI projects we’re working on, including improved chat and log interfaces and the new “nodes as tools” feature.

The videos of all these talks will be published on our YouTube channel over the next few days and added to this post.

Event Highlights

  • One attendee traveled all the way from Finland just to connect with the n8n community!
  • There were lively discussions about scaling self-hosted instances—some great insights were shared.
  • Four participants discovered they all came from the same city and shared a car ride back!
  • About 75% of attendees were already familiar with n8n, while the rest were exploring its potential as an alternative to more expensive or less flexible platforms.

Feedback and Thoughts for Next Time

  • The format of one hour of presentations followed by 1.5 hours of networking worked perfectly.

We’re already planning our next event, likely in about three months. If you have more ideas or would like to contribute with a talk or any other way in our next meetup, we’d love to hear from you! Just drop us a line at [email protected]. We’re looking forward to making our next meetup even better, with your help!

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the vibrant discussions and ideas. Keep an eye on our event calendar - we can’t wait to see you all (and hopefully some new faces) at the next meetup.

Heads up, the Ambassador Program link is broken https://n8n.io/ambassador

If not a page of content, it should probably redirect here: 🌟 Announcing the n8n Ambassador Program! 🌟

Ooh, thanks for catching that - fixed!

I’m interested to learn more about the MyMaco project. There isn’t much documentation available.

Hi @edahl_UND

I am sorry about that. I am working on getting that sorted out. Should have documentation and a product to launch before the end of the year.
The version I showed of in amsterdam was the first alpha version. A lot is going to change, but you can already run it with the images provided on dockerhub.
Sadly no real documentation yet though, but the ENV variables provided are the only thing you need, if you can figure it out without documentation of course.
