I’m working on a mobile app and want to automate tasks like user notifications, form submissions, data updates, and email alerts. Can n8n connect with the app through webhooks and APIs to manage these workflows?
Hey @robertwilliam, while you wait for a response, here are some things that might help:

Yes - webhooks plus the app’s own API cover all four cases (enrolments, form submissions, data updates, email/push alerts). The one thing to avoid is calling the n8n webhook directly from the app: the URL and any shared secret live inside the app bundle, where they can be extracted, and n8n cannot tell whether a request really comes from a logged-in user. Put a thin backend or serverless function in front - it verifies the user token, validates and rate-limits the call, then adds the Header Auth secret and forwards to the n8n webhook. That also gives you a place to queue and retry if n8n is briefly down. For the notifications themselves, let the workflow hand off to the app’s push service (FCM/APNs) rather than trying to reach the device from n8n.
