Crypto Module - Secret In Plain Text

Hello n8n community,

I noticed that the secrets related to the Crypto node were saved in plain text. Would it be possible to store them in the “Credential Manager”, so whenever we are exporting a workflow, the secrets are not disclosed.

No that is sadly currently not possible. So changed your topic to “Feature Request”.

What you could do in the meantime is to set them as environment variables and then reference via {{ $env.VARIABLE_NAME }}
