Feature Request: Lock/Unlock Sticky Notes to prevent accidental selection and movement

Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest a small but useful improvement for Sticky Notes in the workflow editor.

The problem

When selecting multiple nodes by clicking and dragging (box selection), Sticky Notes often get accidentally selected or moved instead of the nodes on top of them. This is particularly frustrating when:

  • Trying to select several nodes placed over a Sticky Note

  • Accidentally dragging the Sticky Note instead of the intended nodes

  • Working with complex workflows where Sticky Notes are used to organize/group sections

Proposed solution

Add a Lock/Unlock toggle (:locked: padlock icon) on Sticky Notes that would:

  • When locked: Sticky Note cannot be selected, moved, or resized. Click and drag passes through to select nodes on top of it.

  • When unlocked: Normal behavior (current state)

Use case example

I use Sticky Notes to visually group related nodes in my workflows. When I need to select multiple nodes within that group, I have to be very careful not to accidentally grab the Sticky Note behind them. A lock feature would solve this instantly.

Mockup idea

A small :locked: icon in the Sticky Note header (next to the color picker) that toggles the locked state.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Would love to hear if there’s a workaround I’m missing, or if this feature is already on the roadmap.
