Fresh install n8n [email protected] at cpanel in Node.js App

Hi. Please help with installing n8n version 2.3.4 on cPanel requires using the
Setup Node.js App tool

Thanks

Hi @PavloGor,

Can you give us a bit more context of how exactly you’re trying to install n8n on cPanel?

Hi, Wouter_Nigrini

Use this manual. I have successful with latest minor version 1.123.13. But not major versions 2.X or 2.3.4

Since n8n on new major versions 2.X requires two applications to be running on different ports, while passenger only allows one application to run on one port.
It is possible to cpanel 132.0.XX install only the update to the latest minor version 1.123.13.

Thanks

Is there a specific reason you want to host on cPanel? There are much better options out there for hosting.

I would also not recommend hosting n8n using npm for production setups.

Hi, Wouter_Nigrini.

There are many reasons. Everything is working fine at the moment. Only on version 1. The server runs on Cpanel, so I want to update the existing version to the latest v2. What would you recommend to switch to version 2? The business plan with self-hosted is too expensive for us. I am also interested in self-hosted. I couldn’t find detailed instructions on how to install v2 on a self-hosted cpanel server. Thanks

You dont need to use the business plan if you’re referring to licensing. I would still recommend something like below which has one click options to get up and running. for as little as $5.

However to answer your question, to host version 2 should be simple enough still if you follow the same instructions from the link you shared, just using the latest version example instructions here:

I dont believe you need to do anything additionally special.

Are you able to share more information of how you configured your version 1 instance? I assume you didnt run it in queue mode.

Are you using code nodes? For this you’ll need to potentially host a runner.
