A few months ago, I was building an automation for a client and thought:

“Could I just tell AI what I want… and get a working workflow?”

I tried every AI option I could find.

Unfortunately I ended up with mostly broken workflos. Wrong nodes. Missing connections.

It felt like AI was still years away from building something I could actually use.

So I built 8nodes… a multi-agent AI Workflow IDE for n8n that can:

  • Import your existing workflows

  • Generate workflows from plain English descriptions

  • Turn an image into a working workflow

  • Let you edit workflows in chat (like Cursor, but for n8n)

How it works

It’s a multi-agent system with:

  • An Architect that plans the flow

  • A Node Designer that picks the perfect n8n nodes

  • A Wiring Engineer who connects everything

  • A QA Agent that tests it end-to-end

You get a complete, runnable workflow you can export straight to n8n with clear names, connections, and parameters already filled in… then all you have to do is add credentials for some nodes and it’s good to go

Because it’s kinda like Cursor, you can preview, tweak, or ask for changes in plain English, and edits apply instantly with layout controls and safety checks.

It’s like having a senior automation team that never sleeps

What’s Next

I’m working on a companion Chrome extension to make it an even better integration to n8n so that you can see your workflow directly generated there. Not sure when I’ll release this but this is on the work

I also want to make this a powerhouse at generating clusters nodes and sub workflow as wells. I’m very close with this and been documenting my progress on X/Twitter.
