DocuGenerate is a document generation API that turns Word templates into clean PDFs. You design a template with merge tags, pass your data as JSON, and get back a finished document. The DocuGenerate node for n8n is available, and we wanted to introduce it here.
Getting started
- On n8n Cloud, search for DocuGenerate when adding a node and click Install node.
- On self-hosted n8n, install it as a community node from Settings > Community nodes using the package
n8n-nodes-docugenerate. - The first time you use an action, you’ll be prompted for a credential. Paste your DocuGenerate API key and you’re set.
What you can do
- Generate document is the main action. Pick a template, choose the output format (PDF, Word, and others), and pass your data. The Data field defaults to
{{ $json }}, so it uses the previous node’s output automatically, or you can map fields manually. - Manage your account with actions like List templates, Get template, List documents, Get document, Update document, and the matching Delete actions.
