It is a bit frustrating that basically every no-code platform outside of n8n has a native, simple integration with Meta products.

The complex set up of an App, Auth token, Permissions, etc is a real barrier for less tech savvy users.

Its actually easier to push data from n8n to a Make.com webhook to publish to IG and FB Pages there.

Yes, this is what I do. It’s a shame n8n ignores social media like Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok!

Good news for those who self-host n8n – there’s a community package that provides Instagram Private API integration. It has:

  • Instagram Trigger node – monitors Instagram for new direct messages and emits them as soon as they are detected.
  • Instagram Private API node - - allows to send direct messages on Instagram to a user by specifying their username.

It also has Instagram Auth node to help with the two-factor authentication (2FA) process for Instagram accounts.

Unfortunately they don’t work.
When logging in it complains about the necessary challenge. When acknowledging the challenge on instagram in the browser, it still fails.
