Hey everyone
I’ve been building automations with n8n for a while and created a few full projects for different business automation.
Now I’m trying to take the next step - find my first client or sell my first automation.
I’d really appreciate if you could share how you found your first client or landed your first paid n8n project.
What worked for you at the start - and what didn’t?
Also, if anyone’s curious, I’ve shared some of my workflows and portfolio on my Upwork profile
I’d be super grateful if you take a quick look or share any feedback
Thanks a lot for your time and any advice you can give!

Well… before finding the first client, I prefered finding a way to automate this process
.
Scrape info from maps for near businesses first, then mail and phone number.
Send mails, Voice AI calls… and why not, in person meeting?

My first clients came in through my network. Easy said, right!
But I do have some recommendations if you do not have a network where you can tap into:
- Fiver
- network events: be curious, ask pro actively about business issues everyone is facing, look for 10X automations you can map to the problems you hear
- Problems: everyone keep having them, if you listen carefully enough, you hear automation potential
- What’s your background, do you see things that went south you can help out with?
Hope this sets you on the right track, set n8n job alerts on, and be curious talking with people, go find problems.
