Microsoft Teams Meeting Analysis (Template & Enterprise Grade Tutorial)

We’ve built an automation with n8n that handles everything after a Microsoft Teams meeting finishes.

Automate MS Teams Meeting Outputs

The web app analysis includes a full summary, key takeaways, decisions made, and clear action items grouped by person. It also connects to tools like Mem so your notes stay searchable and accessible later.

I’ll also explain how to make this work for multiple users without duplicating workflows or sharing credentials using our credential manager.

Now, before you ask why, when we have Copilot in Microsoft:

Copilot gives you a generic summary that looks the same for every business. It’s not tailored, you can’t tweak the structure, and you have little control over where the outputs go.

Personally, I always found myself copying the transcript into another tool just to get something useful.

This setup is different. You can customise the analysis, control the format, and decide exactly what happens next. The results are far more useful, especially for SMEs and founders who manage their own IT stack or progress corporations looking to embrace AI fully.

Hey Wayne!

Really nice setup — the point about Copilot giving the same generic summary for every business is spot on.

One thing that could make this pipeline even cleaner — if your Teams recordings are saved as video files or hosted URLs, you can skip the manual transcript copy step completely. Just pass the recording URL directly to a transcription API and it returns a structured transcript with speaker labels already separated. Feeds straight into your GPT node with no manual step in between.

There’s also a summarization endpoint that returns structured highlights, decisions, and key points in one API call — could simplify your GPT prompt side too.

Great template overall!

Thanks a lot. Were you able to figure it out yourself? With the help of microsoft phone number I can imagine you can do much more with the Teams meeting. Sometimes when something is not working the way it should, it really helps to just call support and get a real person to walk you through it instead of wasting hours trying to search for answers online. I have done that before and it saved me so much time and frustration. Microsoft Teams has so many features that it is easy to miss something or get stuck on a setting you did not even know existed. Having the phone number handy means you can ask directly about scheduling, permissions, screen sharing, or whatever else is giving you trouble. I think it is a smart move, especially if you use Teams regularly for work or meetings.
