Describe the problem/error/question

I have n8n + traefik running in docker on a compute instance that hasn’t been restarted in quite some time and worried that attempting to let Docker use the latest Docker image could introduce some breaking changes as i noticed the version has jumped from 0.201.0 to 1.16. Should I bite the bullet and let it pull the latest image or should i export/backup data and try to import into a new container?

  • Database (default: SQLite): Believe to be SQLite
  • n8n EXECUTIONS_PROCESS setting (default: own, main):
  • Running n8n via Docker
  • Operating system: Ubuntu

Please try upgrading in a separate container with a copy of the DB and encryption key first.
but also, in general, we recommend regularly backing up the database and the encryption key, irrespective of the upgrade plans.
