📣 We Need Your Help! (Answer & Earn)

Our forum traffic is surging

You may have noticed on social media, YouTube and also here on the forum: n8n’s popularity is booming! This is fantastic, but has also led to a huge influx of new questions here on the community forum, and we’re struggling to keep up. As a result, some questions remain unanswered for a long time and that’s not the positive experience we want people to have when they’re learning n8n.

We’re already hiring more people for our Support team, but finding and training them will take at least a few months. In the mean time, we could really use your help by answering any questions that you can. And because we love you for doing that, we’ll be giving away some nice rewards every month!

Here’s how you can help

  1. Check out the new sidebar on the left. Click ‘Find open questions’ to show topics that aren’t marked as ‘solved’ yet.

  1. Answer questions in the Questions category. Be thorough and provide helpful examples, links to our documentation etc.
  2. If the OP is satisfied with the solution, ask them to mark your answer as the solution.

  1. Keep an eye on our new Support Leaderboard! It awards points for all your activity in the Questions category. You don’t need to register anywhere, just by replying here you’ll participate. In the first week of each month, we’ll post an overview of our support champions and ship out some cool rewards (see below).

Oh, and did I mention we’re hiring? Being active on our forum is a GREAT way to get on our radar, and we really love hiring from our own community. Just sayin’

Please do play nice: we will of course not allow cheating (like posting a question and answering it yourself, posting low-effort and AI generated replies or posting excessive numbers of replies to the same topic). Such cases will be disqualified from winning.

How does the scoring work?

You will receive points for:

  • Getting your reply accepted as the solution - 10 points
  • Posting a reply - 2 points
  • Receiving a like - 1 point
  • Visiting daily - 1 point per day

As you see, actually providing a correct answer gets you the most points. So be sure to remind the OP to mark your answer as the solution (see above)!

Rewards

Every month, we will review the leaderboard and award the following prizes:

Tremendous GiftCard (*) Top Supporter badge 1 Month of Cloud Pro One product from our Merch store with free shipping
1st place EUR 500 :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark:

3rd place EUR 100 :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark:
4th‑10th place EUR 50 :white_check_mark:

In addition, everyone will also receive our monthly Top Supporter badge, which you can set as your title on your profile too.

(*) You can use your Tremendous giftcard for hundreds of services, and even turn it into preloaded virtual Visa credit cards. For more information, check out their catalog.

Thank you

I hope this will be a rewarding activity for everyone, and that it will help new n8n users have an even better experience.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Why not setup a support n8n trained chatbot that tries to reply for you. Then if not sufficient, have members help out. The chatbot may already fix many people’s issues. I do it all the time, AI is a wonderful helper

We will! However, we debated if we should let it answer questions on the forum and we decided against it as that would most likely quickly harm the community dynamic (it would basically turn the forum into a public chatbot, and remove all incentives for humans to interact with each other).

Instead, we’re exploring a chatbot that tries to help you before you post, quickly solving the common issues, while still leaving the interesting conversations on the forum itself.

Does that make sense to you?

Yes, a bot that suggests relevant resources or drafts a reply for us is exactly what I was thinking as well, would be very helpful.
Kudos on the funny GIF!
Looking forward to helping out.
Generous rewards for the top contributors but I would trade them all for a discount on enterprise licensing or a free feature like variables or longer change history, just my 2c.

Hi Bart! Could be a separate category, something people could chose to get immediate feedback. Of course we can already do that with public chatbots but yours could be trained with the latest and greatest to reply. I don’t think it has to destroy the dynamic of the community. It would make people focus on something else than the obvious questions and answers as these may be answered by ai right away and so the less obvious ones would remain. The chatbot could be trained with community answers as well. Just brainstorming with you

great initiative. I’ve been going through the documents without login but signed up to community now so I can answer some questions and earn another free trial :frowning:

There are already some members on the top of the Leaderboard that have the Community Support role.

Are they part of the “competition” too?
Meaning if I get 4th place and the top 3 are working members of the Support Team, do I get the rewards as the 1st or the 4th place?

Hi @solomon

Community support is an active group of people in the community that help a lot of people. We are not n8n employees, we only have the extra badge and some more rights on the forum to do some moderation.

Edit:
If n8n employees were on the list I am pretty sure Jon would top it. Or maybe good old Tom. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The guy that came up with this should get his own genius badge.
Way to go to keep a growing community happy!

Having trouble marking a solution in a post I made, the option isn’t showing up.

What’s the URL? Remember this is only available in the Questions category.

Ah so it’s not available in the Help me build my workflow category, gotcha.

Anyone else now annoyed when someone posts a reply saying your answer is the Solution, and then marks their own post as the solution?
