That is nasty. Maybe @bartv wants to do something about that in the rules. ![]()
Ok thatās just mean. The leaderboard is all nice and fun but in the end it comes to helping others out and being fair.
Now I can admit in some of those cases so far, the other user did provide more details/example than I did. In two cases, that was after asking me for more details on my proposed solutions, then asked to be solution marked. Strange, no?
So it might be slightly fair for them to retain solution if more details (ie SO style) tho, not sure.
But the snipping/subtle toxic activity really detracts from the interest to continue to being active, maybe others trying to be more active too.
Hey folks, we have received a few reports of unfair play in order to gain points. We spoke to some posters and in each case we managed to resolve the issue amicably. If you see this happen again, please feel free to flag such messages, select āsomething elseā and describe the issue so we can review them. Thanks!
Yes, just like the Supabase one which did really help me.
There is already a bot in the n8n Discord that does exactly this. It searches the docs, GitHub, and community, then provides you with answers.
Check it out: n8n
Thatās fantastic news!
n8nās growth is well deserved. Iād love to help where I can by answering questions and sharing workflows. Kudos to the team for scaling support and rewarding community contributionsāexcited to see the forum thrive! ![]()
Awesome ā count me in! ![]()
Improving n8n documentation will probably help with this. I find it a bit frustrating that thereās so little information about how nodes work and almost zero examples.
Hi, I would disagree with this. thereās a lot of information out there (obviously, improvements can always be made). The main problem in most cases is that people are not even looking, most of the times. reading the docs, trying it out yourself, all the sample workflows which can be studied, the forum. IMHO, low-code or no-code doesnāt mean just throwing some nodes on there (or asking things like āi have a client, tell me what to doā. you would still need to master by doing and most things depend on understanding external systems and technologies anyway. As in programming you cannot document everything and there is no one size fits all anyway.
Agree with @jcuypers, there is an astronomical amount of information on the forums, documentation, and in their vast library of templates. It is also extremely useful to read the nodeās tooltips, question mark indications on inputs, and hero info which typically contains direct links to the documentation.
You may have to adapt to this text-based and trial & error learning over lengthy hand holding videos, but you will learn to get answers 10x faster this way.
Hello everyone! I have just sent the awards for the top 10 contributors in April - you can see them here. I have also opened a new leaderboard, so the scores have reset.
For next month, please note that Iāll be on vacation during the first week of May, and the rewards will be paid out a little later than usual.
Thank you!
Should we take any action on our end? I havenāt received any email or notification yet.
No action required - these orders tend to take half a day before being sent out due to fraud checks on their side. If you havenāt received it by tomorrow, let me know!
Congrats to the winners. hope to at least grab a t-shirt next time ![]()
That was a blast to help out in competitively positive way! ![]()
Weāll see if I can keep up in April ![]()
Hi, not sure about you guys. but i noticed that some workflow questions are VERY similar in requirements⦠As if they copy/paste from a freelancer site the requirements and ask how to do it. anyone the same feeling?
reg,J.
I have noticed this as well. Also in general the number of questions is sky rocketing with lots of the same ones indeed.
I was hesitant but now Iām inclined to agree with you. Some of the folks there obviously have no clue about the snippets of code they use and some of them even try to push for getting a solution in DM. I mean itās ok not to know something or any of coding or CS in general, but they rather seek for someone to do their entire homework for them. Luckily, there is just a few of this type. I wish I had wisdom to recognize those at a glance.
Probably, I just need a break⦠Apologies for ranting.
I agree, without targeting anyone or anything. I have decided for myself that in cases where it is not directly error-related or something they have tried to build at least by themselves, I recommend them to look in the manual, take a course, or consult an expert. if there is no evidence of trying to solve, trying to learn, reading a doc. or something its no use. (competition or not). and TBH this is to be regulated by N8N. not by us.
