Dashboard U.I

Hi guys, great work on the new website!

Have you thought of adapting the dashboard to a new brand?

You could keep the current dark mode as “Legacy” and implement a new one, which looks way closer to your current branding (screenshots attached).

Thoughts?

Anyone can customize the design of n8n using a browser extension, custom JavaScript, or directly through the developer console. It would be great if n8n offered multiple official themes or supported fully custom styles via CSS, but I guess that might still take a few more months—or even years.

Personally, I’ve created nearly 30 custom themes, which I regularly tweak and switch between using my own browser extension. it doesn’t take much effort to make something like this yourself

Agree, but it gets tricky with clients and colleagues, they wouldn’t see the theme.

Would love to hear the team’s take on this, even a custom CSS section would be great.

Definitely something we are thinking about.

But generally, the website will probably be updated more regularly (let’s say every 1-2 years). I doubt all users would appreciate it if we updated the look and feel of n8n itself as often. People are, most of the time, not big fans of change, as can be seen by the comments about our relaunch and literally any website relaunch in internet history. So I assume users would appreciate it if bigger adjustments in the n8n builder were happening less frequently.

Saw the negative comments about the website, but as a professional web designer I can assure you they’re wrong. It’s one of the most spot-on rebranding works I’ve seen in a while, definitely not the classic S.a.a.S. website.

I also agree on people being adverse to change, it’s very common when they’re used to something and it switches up. Have you considered adding it, but not as default?

This way only those who want a modern look can enjoy the new theme, while the others can keep the current one.

I imagine:

  • Dark (Legacy)
  • Dark
  • Light

I mean it’s more of subjective thing. I personally think it’s nice. But I agree on the default thing. The option to have would be nice.

Would be cool with season themes aswell.

@jan what do you think of the custom CSS option?

It would allow people to create their own themes, without messing with the default ones.
