Enterprise license not detected after upgrading from n8n v1 to v2 (self-hosted)

Hi everyone,

After upgrading my self-hosted n8n instance from version 1.x to 2.0.3, my Enterprise license is no longer detected.

However, when I click the activation link I received by email, I get the following message:
“Activation key has already been used on this instance.”

This suggests the license is still linked to my instance, but n8n v2 doesn’t seem to load it anymore.
I’ve already tried:

  • restarting the instance,

  • checking the license/enterprise settings,

  • reapplying the license key via environment variables.

Has anyone experienced this issue after a v1 → v2 migration and found a solution (license reload, reset on n8n side, DB fix, etc.)?

Hey @Fredo_HIEN !

This command:

n8n license:clear

Should clear the key from your self-hosted instance.

Cheers!

The key issue is resolved, but n8n is still displaying the ‘Community’ plan even though I’m hosting locally. What do I need to do to get an ‘Enterprise’ plan?

I don’t know exactly how it works with “Enterprise” activations key, but since this involves payment the best and fastest way would be :

Contact [email protected] and get a ticket number, and then maybe come back here and @Jon_James can further assist if you send all private details in a DM , and if he’s available it may fix or redirect somehow to the proper department.

Cheers!

Okay, thank you very much! I now understand the principle of the “Business” plan.

Cheers !
