N8n Chat trigger node not working

hello, for my chatbot workflow I’ve used a chat trigger node but when I try apply it to my website and test it, the trigger doesn’t even activate and when I use my chat widget on the website and try send a message, after I send the message I instantly get an error 500..

Does anyone know what the problem might be? Is it my workflow or the code?

Hi @Deux_Traep

Here’s a couple things to look for.

  • Did you activate your workflow?
  • Are you using the test url or the production url from the chat node.
  • Check executions on your n8n workflow. Is it starting, then falining?

Also, are you on cloud or self hosted?
