Dark mode (Or dark node interface) [GOT CREATED]

I typically only get a chance to work on N8N at night so it would be awesome if we could get a dark mode.

This worked really well. Only thing I’m paranoid is if chrome extensions can read passwords/clipboard/etc. I’ll use it for now and hopefully sometime down the road they might implement native.

I’d love to see dark UI. Unfortunately, dark mode extension won’t let me change to dark mode ;/

Anyway, I added my vote

I keep checking back now and then to see if this ever comes out. It is the only thing keeping me from using N8N. I just can’t stand looking at such a completely bright white application for more than a few minutes.

I was able to put a dark theme on NodeRed, so I will just have to keep using that until there ends up being a way for the desktop version of N8N to have a dark theme.

Dark Reader does provide an JavaScript for allowing a page darkmode, so maybe the development can use it and don’t need to make all the css

I was using a chrome extension for a while that provided me with a dark mode but to be honest I don’t find no dark mode a deal breaker as the features that are available outweigh that.

Having said that dark mode is still something I really want to see and about a week ago I did see an internal demo of it in action so it should be coming out I just don’t know when.

I wanted to bump this since Dark reader extension not always make it right

Is any change to add dark mode to n8n anytime soon, or at least remove changing color on hover arrows (what I believe make arrow invisible on dark mode (via extension))?

Thanks in advance for your help!

PLEASE BRING A DARK MODE.
I use a DarkReader extension, but only works with my local n8n… :<

Good news everyone: A darkmode is in it’s final phases and will be coming soon.

Hey, you got my vote !

Great to hear! I hate to ask this, but because I updated from 1.9 to 1.11 and it caused my current dark mode extension to make all node connection lines to become invisible.

Is “soon” a matter of days, or could it be multiple weeks? I’m just looking for a ballpark. If it’s days-ish, I can live with that. I’m just trying to avoid spending a lot of time finding a solution to something that is imminent.

Probably @giulioandreini can give a detailed estimation, as he’s currently applying the final touches on it

Hi!
We’re doing the final tweaks to the dark mode :waning_crescent_moon:
It will be released very soon (and by “very soon” I mean day-ish @protechtedd )
Looking forward to having your feedback!

Excited to try it!

I’ll be glad to use it in it’s current state. Hopefully though it will have some customizability (eventually, if not already). I’m sure UI/UX work is challenging in its own right, so I appreciate all the hard work being done.

I just learned about n8n today and I’m starting to learn with a locally hosted version. Looks like I picked a good time, as dark mode is a must for me in any application! Super excited to see how it turns out!
