Hi,
Since upgrading to 2.3.6 from 1.xx, I am missing the green lines (green arrows) between executed nodes on the Execution view.
That’s not critical at all, the green ticks on executed nodes are still showing. It makes it a bit harder to spot the execution path on bigger workflows. See screenshot.
I found 2 reports of the same issue in this community, but the topics were closed after 3 months, so here’s a new one. I’ll try to be more responsive than the previous OPs
Please share your workflow
Happens in all workflows, not workflow or node specific
This is a known visual issue that can occur after upgrading to newer n8n versions. Here are a few things to try:
• **Clear your browser cache** - This often resolves UI display issues after upgrades
• **Try a hard refresh** (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R) of the n8n interface
• **Check if it happens in an incognito/private browser window** to rule out browser extension conflicts
• **Restart your n8n instance** if you’re self-hosting
The green arrows showing execution flow are purely visual aids, so your workflows will continue to function normally. If the issue persists after trying these steps, it might be worth checking the n8n GitHub issues or downgrading temporarily if this significantly impacts your workflow debugging process.
A restart of the container doesn’t help, nor does a visit after cache reset or in incognito mode
I found the issue was raised on github (#23479), but closed for lack of reproducibility, and I cannot reopen it.
Here are more details in case a dev/pm monitors this forum:
Happens on all nodes of the workflows on which executed lines remain gray
Doesn’t happen on every workflow. I can’t draw strong conclusions from just my setup but this may help: workflows starting with a Webhook don’t have green lines, workflows starting with a Scheduler do have them.
Docker install on Ubuntu, accessing the UI via Cloudflare, SQLite DB.
The executed line on the screenshot has these properties:
