Missing "Change Owner" Option in Workflow Settings

Hi everyone,
I noticed that the “Change Owner” option has disappeared from the workflow settings menu. I used to see it when clicking the three-dot menu next to a workflow, but now it’s no longer there.

Is this a recent UI change, a bug, or possibly a permissions issue? How can I move personal workflows to projects?

Any help or insights would be appreciated — thanks!

Hi @Easy8.ai,

I just checked, and I am on Version 1.89.2. I can see this option, but it might have changed in future updates with the UI.

Similar to how you discovered this, I also found a new change. Earlier, we had the option to delete directly, but now it shows “archive.” Once it’s archived, I couldn’t see the archived items at first. However, yesterday I found out that we can view them using filters.

Yes, have already checked release notes and from version [1.96.0] Release [email protected] · n8n-io/n8n · GitHub “Move” and “Change Owner” are merged to one setting feat(editor): Combine Move and Change owner modals by Cadiac · Pull Request #15756 · n8n-io/n8n · GitHub. It’s fine, but the problem is that I, as an admin, am unable to move personal workflows where I am not the owner. I don’t understand why this permission was removed with this feature change.

I’ve updated to the latest version and noticed this as well. You need to open the workflow and use the kebab icon in there to find change owner… Quite annoying, especially since i’m trying to migrate workflows between instances… Directly working with the database is easier
