Credential problems with WordPress

Hello!

I’m having trouble connecting my WordPress credentials. I use the dedicated node for this purpose, and I fill in the user with my username (the one in Users > Profile), the password with the password created in “Application Passwords” (I don’t use the same password as for WordPress login, which I’ve read is a common mistake), and in the URL, I enter my website’s URL, as shown in the Web section under Users > Profile.

But I get this error:
Couldn’t connect with these settings
Service unavailable - try again later or consider setting this node to retry automatically (in the node settings)

Am I doing something wrong? How can I fix this?

@teo_dc hello, hope all is well.

Are you using self-hosted or your site is managed by wordpress.com?
Is your site protected by Cloudflare or another anti-bot protection system?

I am having a similar issue.
I enter the application name and application password that is generated.
Am getting this error: Couldn’t connect with these settings
Authorization failed - please check your credentials

I am literally copy/pasting the application name (which is the same as the username) and the application password which Wordpress generated for me.

The documentation only refers to wordpress.com and states that I have to turn 2step auth on but by default my self hosted Wordpress site doesn’t have that. Is it necessary? If so, do I just pick any app to provide this 2step auth functionality?

Is it not possible to connect a self hosted wordpress site?
